Disc Jockey – ‘Man of the Year’ Single Review

Originally known as The Shoestrings, the upcoming Northwest based punk band are now operating under a new alias in Disc Jockey. After only a short amount of time since their beginning Disc Jockey have already begun to make a name for themselves through their live performances and their new single ‘Man of the Year’ featuring on radio stations such as BBC Introducing. Recently released on the 28th of February, ‘Man of the Year’ marks a new exciting era in the beginnings of this exciting band.

With ‘Man of the YearDisc Jockey manage to summon all the swagger and energy that comes with the Punk genres. Oozing with energy the track is an explosively characterful look into the bands new sound, while making use of aggressive guitars and a vocal take full of an intoxicating level of spite aimed at the failing world.

Man of the Year’ acts as a showcase of this new band’s talent and direction, announcing their arrival and inevitable rise as a band full of character and passion with a brilliantly put together single.

Disc Jockey are undoubtably a band to keep an eye on in the alt scenes, with ‘Man of the year’ surely being only an amazing sign of things to come. This is an exciting time for the band as they continue on into this new promising era.
