Mars Blossom is an independent artist based in Manchester, already garnering a following within the local queer scenes through their performances in the local Manchester venues. Attracting people to their music with a social media presence packed full of whimsical aesthetics and vintage charm they have now released their debut single ‘Come and Haunt Me’, finally bringing us a substantial look into their music beyond the magical backdrop that they have created.
‘Come and Haunt Me’ feels like the perfect debut single for Mars Blossom, managing to be the auditory personification of the aesthetic they have summoned so far for themselves as an artist. Exploring the themes of love, death, loss and the idea of “[loving] someone so much [that] you want them to kill you”, ‘Come and Haunt Me’ creates a beautiful look into these extreme human emotions and how they can leave you damaged or changed, whilst also providing a meaningful window into grief and what it means to lose someone.

The dreamlike verses paired with an incredibly catchy Blondie-esque chorus work together magnificently to bring a hauntingly beautiful feeling to the sonics of the track that you can’t help moving to, while still delivering all the emotion that the themes conjure up through a stellar and somehow nostalgic feeling vocal performance.
The production of the track also lends itself to the entire feel of the song, as it plays on the ghostly vibe with dreamy reverbs and ghostlike echoes. Reverse vocal swells bringing certain lines in like a spirit phasing into existence throughout the song was also an incredible touch, that fit perfectly with the theme of the song whilst complimenting the overall sound.
Ultimately, we’re big fans of this debut single and we definitely recommend checking it out. Mars Blossom has provided the perfect soundtrack to run away to the woods and dance your worries away to.
